Digestive Illnesses and Symptoms

As a “community” gastroenterologist, Dr. Koretsky treats the full spectrum of digestive ailments.  This includes diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestine (colon), rectum, gallbladder, liver, and pancreas.  In the GI lab he performs endoscopic procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy (colon cancer and colon polyp screening).

Occasionally, a patient will require specialized services or procedures not offered by Dr. Koretsky.  In addition, some patiets may have exceptionally difficult diagnostic or therapeutic issues.  In these cases, Dr. Koretsky may refer the patient to another local gastroenterologist with special expertise in a particular niche, or to a tertiary/academic center such as the Mayo Clinic, Shands, Moffett or an Orlando facility.
